Terms of use

Draft for review. Not yet final.
What Dotable is
Dotable is a tool run by [Company name] that helps artists sell their own work through private sale links, and keeps the records of each sale. By creating a studio or using a sale link, you agree to these terms.
Dotable is in an early pilot. Features may change, and we may pause or end the pilot. We'll give artists notice and time to export their records.
Dotable is not the seller
Every sale is between the artist and the buyer. The artist is the seller and is responsible for the work, its description and price, delivery, returns, refunds, and any taxes or duties on their side.
Dotable never holds, receives, or moves money. Buyers pay artists directly, using the methods the artist chooses. Dotable doesn't take a percentage of any sale.
Holds, deposits, and payments
A sale link holds a work for the time the artist sets. While it's held, reserved, waiting for payment confirmation, or disputed, it can't be sold to anyone else.
A deposit is 30% of the total including shipping. If the balance isn't paid by the due date, the artist decides whether any of the deposit is refunded.
A payment counts only once the artist confirms it arrived. A work is placed, and its certificate of authenticity issued, only when it's fully paid.
For artists
You must be 18 or older and give accurate details. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for activity in your studio.
Only sell work you made and have the right to sell. Your photos and descriptions must be accurate.
You keep all rights to your work and photos. You give Dotable permission to store, resize, and show them only to run the service, for example on your sale links, emails, and documents.
Use buyers' details only for the sale they relate to, and follow the laws that apply to you.
You can export your records and delete your account at any time in Settings, except while a sale is still in progress.
For buyers
Give accurate details. Pay the artist using one of the methods shown, and tap "I've sent the payment" only after you've sent it.
Questions about the work, delivery, or refunds go to the artist. You can message them from the sale page.
Not allowed
Using Dotable for fraud, for work you don't have the right to sell, to reach other artists' data, to break or overload the service, or to send spam.
We may suspend accounts that break these terms. We'll tell you why when we can.
Documents
Invoices, receipts, and certificates are created from the records the artist and buyer provide. The artist is responsible for their accuracy and for meeting any invoicing rules where they work.
Limits of liability
Dotable is provided as is, during a pilot. We work hard to keep it running and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, [Company name] isn't liable for disputes between artists and buyers, for payments made outside Dotable, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
Law and contact
These terms follow the laws of the United States and the State of [State]. If they change, we'll update the date above and tell artists about important changes by email.
